farmer's market

We went to the Farmer's Market to pick up a few things. We ended up spending almost an hour there but only just over $20 for two big bags of fruits and veggies.

We got a bag of apples and made our own applesauce. Not only was it delicious but the boys had fun making it. The only things that went in were apples, water and cinnamon. Next time I might try adding some lemon juice since I read that it brings out the apple flavor.

I also got Kale (to make Kale chips), turnips, yellow squash, zuccini, tomatoes, raspberries, and cabbage. Not too bad for a first trip. I'm not sure what to do with the turnips. I thought they were something else when I bought them. I guess I'll figure it out, though.

Next time we're getting some goat cheese and maybe some fresh bread. The bread smelled so good I could barely resist but it just wasn't in the budget this time.
